Students are immersed in a raw crafting experience at our studio in a renovated barn built in 1932.
You won't find power tools, but rather a quaint homestead teeming with flowers and fruit trees around the charming metal roof and vintage boards that house our large crafting table.
I once taught my class by candlelight in a power outage! When the lights returned, my students laughed and said "Turn them back off! We're enjoying the ambience!" You're going to have an AMAZING time.

While copper crafting is a low-risk activity,
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A LIABILITY WAIVER TO ATTEND THE CLASS
Guests should come prepared for an art studio environment that often involves:
-sharp tools: we give you receiving foam to keep the pointy bits away from you!
-sharp metal: you can get a foil cut just like a paper cut and pointy edges can poke skin and snag clothing. We teach you how to cut in a way that best prevents pointy edges.
-messy inks: I don't recommend wearing your favorite shirt to play with liquid sharpie
-vices: we smash your stem at the end. I do the holding so there's no risk of you being pinched!
-fire: occasionally classes will include optional outdoor flame painting with handheld mini torches. All flame painting is done fully supervised 1-on-1 with the instructor, and we do the flame painting for child participants.
-weight: None of your tools weigh more than a pound (in general they weigh much less!), but we do recommend closed-toe shoes.
Most of my designs are cold-connected by smashing the stem where it meets the base of the flower. If your flower jiggle jiggles, fear not! I'm happy to solder it for you. If you feel less than confident any step of the way, I'm happy to help
MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN AND STILL REQUIRE A WAIVER
Insurance asks that our guests be over the age of 5, but all guests should have fully developed fine motor skills and the ability to sit through a 2 hour class (classes are typically 60-90 minutes). If your child struggles with an activity of this duration, use your judgement and be fair to the other students who paid to take the class. Many child participants- including teenagers- rush to be the fastest and get bored waiting for the ones who take their time.
I am committed to every student leaving with a finished piece, and as long as you are willing to accept help; we'll overcome any aspect of the process that you might find challenging. In 18 months of classes and over 300 students, I've only ever needed to assist one student in cutting, and I've never met a piece that couldn't be saved. You CAN do this!
